Team and skills

What is unique in our startup is the dream team: one PhD neurobiologist and one PhD biotechnologist and one Bio-nanomaterial graduated engineer. The overall company vision is huge and complete. Excellent science first, made by an excellent team, never stopping, highly jumping, running with blood on the knees to accomplish projects and challenges.

It is not money that generates value, but our work.

Nanomnia Srl was founded in 2017 in Verona. The background story has been written within University of Verona, Dept. of Biotechnology, where the members first met and share future perspectives, on the basis of basic developing steps in nanotechnology achievements. The members shared from the first moment goals, strategies, skills, and each of them explored the opportunity given by being a startup enterprise to understand the personal contribute to its realization.

Marta Bonaconsa, CEO, molecular biologist, PhD in Neuroscience. took charge of the management of the research group, and then discovered her capability to manage the team as the leader member. To properly accomplish her tasks and role, Bonaconsa joined masterclass lessons and participated to courses for startup entrepreneurs attending the program “The Start up Training” at the commercial university L. Bocconi (Milan) and obtained a master’s degree in European Project Management at Europa Cube Business School (Bologna).

Michele Bovi, CTO, 40 years old, PhD, graduated in Biotechnology at the University of Verona, obtains a Ph.D. in Biotechnology at the same university. He worked on molecular and structural biology, and possible applications of plant metabolites, such as the industrial transformation of food. From 2012 to 2017 he led the development of the nanotechnology branch in the the Department of Biotechnology of University of Verona. He has expertise in encapsulation of agrochemicals, cosmetics and nutraceuticals.

Pietro Vaccari, Project developer, 27 years old, graduated in ‚ÄúScience and Technology of Bio and Nano-materials ” at the University of Venice, has expertise on the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials. He supervises the development of tissue engineering projects for the synthesis of a biodegradable tubular prosthesis for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in pediatric patients at the Laboratory of Translational Surgery of the University of Verona.
